一個非常恐怖的大災難在美國的直布羅陀－魁北克城發生了。

一點徵兆警告都沒有，在一片大岩石上建有城堡，忽然間，龐大的岩石分裂成塊，直往下面的強連街墜下，所的房屋都被埋了，老百姓皆來不及逃生。

    人們拼命的工作，想辦法從危險的廢墟中救人。一星期過了，他們還在挖，有人注意到一隻貓從岩石的縫隙中逃出來，他告訴同伴說：

   「讓我們在那裡挖一挖，因為那一隻貓可以活着，也許我們可以找到一些活着的人。」

不久，他們就碰到一個人的身體，雖然沒有意識了，但還在呼吸。過了一會兒，他睜開雙眼，要求見神父。他辦了和好聖事，領了聖體後說：

「天主救了我，賜給了我這個恩典，是因為上個月我剛做完一連九個月首星期五特敬耶穌聖心的敬禮，耶穌聖心遵守了祂的諾言」。

幾分鐘以後，他走了，去向耶穌聖心說聲：「謝謝！」

8.Faith

        A terrible catastrophe had befallen the city of Quebec, the Gibraltar of America.   Without a moment’s warning, a portion of the rock on which the fortifications are built gave way and a huge mass became detached and hurled itself down into Champlain Street below.   Houses were buried in the ruins and the occupants were unable to escape.

        Men worked strenuously trying to extricate the victims.   A week passed and they were still at work digging in the ruins, when a man noticed a cat coming from an aperture in the rock.   Turning to his companions, he said,  “Let us dig there for if that cat has been able to live, perhaps we may find some person alive, too.”   After some time they came upon the body of a man who, although unconscious, was still breathing.

        In a little while he opened his eyes and asked for a priest.   After making his confession and receiving the sacraments, he said,  “If God has saved me and given this grace, it is because I finished the nine First Fridays last month, and the Sacred Heart keeps his promises.”   In a few moments his soul went forth to convey its gratitude to the Heart of Jesus.
